Who: Allegra Lenkeit (+Elpis) and OPEN
What: Allegra. Bar. Fight. Questions?
Where: Stackhouse Pub
When: Thursday (night)
Why: "No" is a dirty word, never gonna say it first. "No" is just a thought that never crosses my mind.
It wasn't hard to find a fight in New York.
Of course, in Allegra's case it wasn't even a matter of trying anymore. It just happened. Like gravity. Or possibly magnetism.
I am a self-made natural phenomenon, Allegra thought smugly...right before the chair broke over her back. It was the shock that dropped her, more than the actual force of the hit. Allegra didn't mind too much; her new lowered perspective made it that much easier to knife the guy's legs out from under him. By the time his ass kissed the floor, she'd already rolled back to her feet.
"Cheating candy-ass pansy." She stomped her foot near his face to watch the flinch. "A chair? Who the fuck uses a—sss."
Fire sliced her cheek, her mouth. Shit. She lashed out automatically, a glancing blow meant to earn enough room to fall back rather than deal genuine damage. Out of the corner of her eye, Allegra caught the teasing wink of silver.
Rings. Motherfucker was wearing rings. That was way worse than chairs. But it wasn't the worst of it...
It took a particular sort of man to like hitting women, and Allegra learned to recognize the sort early on. It wasn't just the impotent mooks who got bladdered and went after girlfriends-wives-not-quite-significant-e
The guy looking at her now, flexing the fingers inside their rings, obviously did.
Allegra looked at the blood on his knuckles—hers—and smiled. It hurt. She didn't mind.
Okay, sunshine. You? You are it.
Which was when someone hit her with the second chair.
