You are everything that is bright and clean; an antonym for me - You are divinity.
Who: Samael (servantofgod)
What: Coming to terms with everything.
Where: Church.
When: Tuesday evening.
Warnings: None.
It had been ten days since the end of his fast, and the reason he had embarked on his fast had not crossed his mind since then. Busy getting back to 'normal life', perhaps - something awry was going on with the enemy and still Samael had commitments to church, to his part-time job at NYU, to His children where they might need him, to elderly laying on their deathbeds and miscarriages in the operating room - there was so much to do in the time the Lord had allocated for them.
He found the thoughts he had been wrestling with to be so trivial in light of everything going around them. This was one of the last generations of man before the second coming, and the angel was but an undeserving servant - the least he could do for his Creator was to do His work.
Finding Samael alone in the church he served in was not uncommon. He could take out his guitar and worship 'at home', but holy grounds was originally home for the angel, and not his temporary dwelling on Earth.
And though he only had the guitar with him, he could hear the other instruments playing in his head. Though he was alone on the pew, he felt surrounded by the grace and love of God, and it reminded him of what real home was. Where he belonged. Where he might return to at the End of Days.
And at the End of Days, his personal struggles may not matter anymore. Of course, he needed his sanity and peace of mind - but they needed him more. Every single man, woman and child still unsaved on this planet needed him more than he could fathom. Every needy Christian crying out to God needed him. He was here for a purpose, and while everything happened for a reason, the angel needed to set aside his selfish pursuits for Him.
And the truest sign of grace was this - from wounded hands redemption fell down...
