As the waiters bustled about to bring over another chair, Eros did a classic impression of a fish out of water. He opened his mouth as if to speak, then said nothing at all. His eyes widened. There was a serious dearth of blinking. For a moment he gaped blankly, then finally choked out a word. "Anteros?"
His brother. His brother had planned to meet his wife for lunch; had hugged her right in front of him. Called her sweetheart. If it had been anyone other than Anteros who'd done that - someone less trustworthy on the fidelity front like, say, Himeros - Eros would have lost his temper there and then. Instead he stood stock still, wide-eyed with surprise.
"You did this on purpose," he managed finally, his tone accusatory. He gave Psyche a glare, unable to face Anteros' clear-eyed gaze. His expression was quite quickly growing dark - never a good sign. "You did this to upset me, didn't you?"
