"Between the two of them? I think you're forgetting someone," Laura interrupted. She lay a hand on her stomach, gently moving her fingers over the barely discernible swell of the twins inside. How were they going to tell the twins? Frank and Mary had lived the larger part of their childhoods without knowing the truth about their father, but these next two babies would be born into a family that knew everything about him and had more ties to the immortal community than Laura was comfortable with. Would they keep these two in the dark until they were old enough, or would they let them grow up with the knowledge and trust them to keep it secret?
"A tour, let's go! I wanna see everything!" Frank insisted, grabbing his mother's wrist and practically dragging her into the house. "What things? Show me! C'mon, Dad!"
Allowing herself to be led onto the porch and into the house, Laura shrugged helplessly. "I think you ought to do as he says, sweetheart, or he's liable to pass out from anticipation." She didn't add that she was almost as eager to see this house as Frank was. After all, Jesse had been to her family's home and been welcomed by them as a part of the family. It was about time that she saw his family home, even if there was no family left -- he and his brother notwithstanding.
