Asterion rolled over, curled onto his side, back to the god. "You've saved her in your dreams but...this time that wasn't good. Why?" And he really didn't mean to pry...didn't want to. The further he pushed this, the closer they came to...the exact scenario he was trying to avoid. And he knew that, but Orpheus wanted him to push. It was clear from his tone when he said 'nevermind'. Though the god would act as though it was fine, the truth was, simply enough, that it was not.
What could he do? He had no choice, now. No choice at all, despite his own fear...and so he kept pushing, gave Orpheus the 'permission' to make his confession. He could only hope...only hope for the best. And yes, there was a side of him that wanted to be happy...but it was overwhelmed and dashed to bits against the terrors of his past.
