Who: Persephone and Psyche When: Tuesday afternoon Where: Tea & Sympathy, a tea house.
On a typical afternoon after work, Persephone was usually found in Central Park, glancing over her shoulder every now and then. She avoided most people. She was used to it. But the last week or so had been strange. She hadn't heard a peep from Hades. It was refreshing and yet strangely troubling. What was going on? Should she relax? Or would he swoop down and find her the very moment she decided she was truly free again?
And then there was Adonis, who she desperately wanted to see, and yet was still afraid to meet. Maybe it would be okay to go to Central park to see him as he got off work. But for now, she was avoiding that decision on her free afternoon from her own job.
On her walking journey through the streets she glanced at a tea room she had never visited before. She smiled at its beautiful decor and charming appeal. Coffee was okay, but she always preferred tea. And seeing such a friendly place cheered her up a little and distracted her from her thoughts. It helped that there were flowers growing in front of the tea room.
With very little hesitation, she opened the door to hear the slight tinkling of bells when she entered. Her smile widened as did her eyes when she took in the loveliness of the tea house. It seemed like a perfect place to relax for a couple of hours.
After being welcomed by a polite woman who worked in the tea house, Persephone was seated at a small table. It was directly by another small table where a woman alone was seated, but she didn't get to get a good look at the other girl until after she ordered some chrysanthemum tea (always a favorite) and the polite woman left.
There was something strangely familiar about the other girl, and Persephone tried not to look like she was staring. That familiar tingling feeling she got when she was near another immortal was persistently present. But it had to be someone she knew.. Someone from home. It was just then that Persephone recognized the girl. It would be very difficult to forget someone as beautiful as that, whom she first met in such a memorable way.
For now, though, she just continued to look at her. She wasn't bold enough to greet her just yet - she could have been wrong, couldn't she? And yet she was sure she wasn't.
