"Pride lives in LA now, and I was given an excellent recommendation for property fairly close to him. I like it here, but there are too many immortals crammed into one spot for my liking, too many of them my own people. It is time to move on. As apparently we share the same frame of mind." There was the smallest bit of a familiar smile, recognizing that connection that they had once shared.
The smile faded a little with Mona's bringing up the past turmoil, but she listened, and didn't allow her temper to flare as she almost wished she could.
"Barring any future missteps, we are fine. I've had time to cool my heels and for the most part, things are as they should be. Much has happened since then, and aside from the more obvious repercussions, it is forgotten for some new drama. But you and I, we're fine."
There was a brief lull before Mona spoke again, but the sudden mention of Desmond was enough to stop her endless scrawling in it's tracks. Even if it was by Mona, the fact that he had sent someone to check on her warmed her oddly enough, much as she would have wished he had been able to himself, the gesture was appreciated. Hell knew it was nice for something nice to actually occur rather then all of the drama that had been popping up non-stop. Even still, it was difficult to not rip Mona out of her seat and demand to know what was so damned important that Desmond had to leave so unexpectedly, a small rush of the temper she craved earlier rearing it's head now, seeing Mona as the cause behind Desmond's disappearance. Either way, it was suddenly difficult to keep up some facet of nonchalance rather then alternating temper fit or odd fit of glee that was threatening to happen.
"Did he now? As I told him when we first met, I don't know yet if I'm proud of you keeping him hidden away as an ace in your pocket for so long, or upset for the same fact. He's quite the darling, I was quite disappointed that he had to leave so suddenly."
