Who: Salvia and Marijuana
What: Brother and sister reunions
When: Friday afternoon
Where: The Highway and surrounding areas of the city
Warnings: Um, mass amounts of Spanish?
Salvia slept well into the afternoon, her body practically sinking into the bed she'd been given. While the bus seats had ranked far beyond the flat pallet they'd given her in the New Mexico jail, the bed proved even better. It wasn't the earth, but it was more than acceptable. With the covers pulled up to her chin, even thought it was already warm in the room. She grew best in warm climates and was from one; the heat was one of her favourite things. Wrapped up as she was, she'd started to sweat and she woke up sticky with it, but feeling cleansed. As if she'd managed to expel everything about the boarder towns, their jails, and their police from her system.
She padded barefoot and naked to the shower feeling better than she had the day before. Two of her brothers were living in this place and she was surrounded by those who were loyal to them. That meant she was safe. It was a term Salvia used with caution of course, she'd thought safety would come in the South West, but she'd been sorely betrayed by the country that had brought her to life. She hated the city, but there was family here. It was a trade off she had to make. She couldn't survive on her own. She'd tried and she'd failed. Miserably.
Wet hair dripped when she stepped out of the shower. She rubbed it furiously with a towel and combed through it with her fingers a few times-- personal grooming wasn't a top priority. The shirt she slipped over her head was ripped in one of the armpits and she'd been wearing the same jeans for nearly two weeks. Her high tops were perhaps five city blocks from wearing out to the point of getting a hole through the bottom. Her family might fuss, but Salvia didn't mind. It was comfortable, and she didn't know any better. She looked human enough, and wasn't that the point? She had to blend in.
Just after two, Salvia poked her head into the main area of the Highway, hoping that her older brother would be back. There were two men sitting at the front counter and seeing only them Salvia shrunk back against the wall as she eased into the room. New people never had been he favourite things and if she had to speak with them, she always kept her distance. Though, given the general soft volume of her voice and her stammer it more often than not made things difficult for both parties.
"I'm looking f-f-for my br-brother." Salvia looked up at them from where she stood on the wall. For a moment she had to struggle to remember the human name he went by. "Marc. He said he'd m-meet me."
