I try to earn my way, I try to tame this mind - you better believe that I am trying to beat this.
Who: Capitalism (laissez_faire) and Tax (you_owe_me), open to Wall Street (upanddown) to intervene at his leisure
What: A light-hearted talk, of sorts, over lunch.
Where: Bistrouge, East Village
When: Saturday afternoon.
Warnings: None, unless talking about the 'R' word counts.
Capitalism and Tax were not the closest of acquaintances, contrary to what one might believe. Paying tax was a necessary evil - one of two certainties in life; the other being death - though it was not so much of an interference in the corporate world than it was an accompaniment. Capitalism wasn't all about the money - he was a system; a way a country managed and ran its economy. Where the money went, be it to the government or washed away in the drain, was of little concern to him.
"It has been a while since our last meeting," he said, greeting Tax with a light smile as he crossed his legs under their table, resting his hands in his lap. Apart from those partaken with Wall Street, Capitalism rarely had business-unrelated meals. There was hardly enough time in a day with 24 hours as it was - taking even more time out to do something that did not progress his latest stock brokerage venture would only add to the time constraints.
Capitalism would make time for other divinities, though, especially one who was related to his domain. It was only polite. For all the times he had evaded paying his taxes, showing up and entertaining this lady was the least he could do.
