He had stepped away from the car in order to approach her, finally physically ignoring the cop down the line of cars.
"It sounded like you were having a good time." Karl bent down to pick up the suitcase while he unlocked the trunk with the other hand, and then proceeded to put it in. It was all very methodical and done without any pause, but that was just his nature and habit. Possibly done at a slower pace so he could afford not having to wince at the aching feel of his muscles straining to life just one measly luggage.
It seemed a bit out of place though, for Alyssa to not take care of everything, since she was that type, but Karl didn't mind, so he didn't ask.
