Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:hermaphroditos, rave

Who: Hari and Rave
What: Kidnapping/girly night out
When: Later Saturday night
Where: Unnamed strip club
Rating: NC-17; Drinking, language, sexual themes

It wasn’t fair! The day had been a fairly quiet one in Rave-land when there had been a very loud, very insistent knock on her door, and a small band of her female followers – a rainbow of differently colored hair and interesting outfits – had been waiting on the other side. She had politely tried to decline the invitation, but in the end she had been convinced; It was a spontaneous bachelorette party, one of the younger members of the group had just announced her engagement and it seemed that once they got started, they just kept picking people up and, as the soul of the group, Rave had been dragged along.

She was the shortest of the bunch as they poured into the club, though also one of the quietest.. Not necessarily because she was a particularly quiet type, but because the giggling group was just so much louder than the pink-haired deity. They bellied up to the bar to order drinks and exchange larger bills for handfuls of ones, before all moving to pile into the front row of seats. Rave herself simply sat with her knees to her chest, and her drink on them, ten dollars worth of singles tucked under one food, just in case, but she didn’t seem the rabid type. Especially not like the bride-to-be.

[[ooc: i'm so sorry >< i thought i'd replied. oh gosh. fail]]

Hermaphroditos hated when groups of girls came in. More than guys. He hated it because they weren't here for the secret lust and fantasies. They were here for a laugh. And he- he was certainly something to laugh at.

He hated this job-

He was dressed tonight as a schoolgirl, the clothes clinging to every part of him, the bludge of his penis obvious through the front of his little skirt as well as his breasts. His hair was straightened, hanging just past his shoulders, his legs bare, feet in less than dainty platform boots.

He took to the stage, his eyes dark. Just a job. Just routine. He could do this without thinking too much. The girls didn't need the real interaction of eye contact, flirting. They didn't need it and they wouldn't have it. He could just be a body for them.

The crowd she was burdened with did exactly it seemed that the dancer was fearing. They screamed, hooted, hollered and laughed. All but Rave, who was quite frankly embarrassed for the boy. She averted her eyes, all too acutely aware of the darkness in his gaze and the uncomfortable aura he gave off with her party.

She dug her cell phone from her pocket and sunk deeper into the chair, frowning at the screen while she mentally calculated how much she had on her in cash. She’d tip him big when he came around, because no one deserves that kind of treatment, especially when they’re just trying to make a living.

Poor thing.

Hari stuck to one of his less sexual dances, though it was hardly tame regardless. He took to the pole that stood in the middle of the stage, sliding down, up, turning- Every time he slid down the mix of his genders was more than obvious.

But this is what he existed for, wasn't it? It wasn't that he loved this city, but he did like feeling alive. Feeling alive. And he didn't want to disappear.

The next moves found him on his hands and knees near the front of the stage, prowling like a big cat. And, on hands and knees, everything again was visible.

Not that he could begrudge the girls their entertainment. They weren't easy to ignore, but he could. Except for one. One who wasn't even watching him. He headed towards her, rolled onto his back keeping up the same feline mannerisms, propping himself up on the stage directly in front of her.

When the dancer made his way over to kneel in front of Rave on the stage. She looked up, frowning slightly and then shooting a glare into the rest of her crowd when they gasp and react loudly. She sets her phone aside and digs out her wallet. She lifts from her chair a little then, leaning in to slide two bills down along his side and tuck them into the waist band of his skirt. Both fifties. She leans in to bring her mouth near his ear.

“Come talk to me when you’re done.”

She wants to know why he’s sad, and she figured a hundred-dollar tip would guarantee the chance to ask. She doesn’t sound like she’s propositioning him, either, especially with the way she sits back down and goes right back to her phone. If she wanted him for sex, wouldn’t her eyes be more fixed on his endowments?

Hari is more than surprised at the handsome tip that has been given to him. And no, he knows it's not a proposition. He can feel people's desire for sex and that isn't what is radiating from this woman.

Proposition. He's used to them. Of a different nature (though he doesn't yet know the nature of this one) but he can deal with them.

He nods his head once, acknowledgement, before standing again, resuming his dance in front of the other girls who certainly don't tip as well, but it is their stares he thinks he thrives from.

One minute until the end of the song.

Twenty seconds.

Darkness and he's off for now.

He catches the young woman's eye as he heads off stage, gesturing that he'll be coming out over their momentarily, when he's found something to cover himself up with and informed security of his whereabouts.

Mixing with the patrons isn't really the done thing. But she means him no harm.

She slips away from her party then, not about to subject the boy to their further scrutiny even though her one simple act had caused enough of a stir. She makes her way away from the stage to curl into a slightly darker booth just past the bar, even though she had told her friends she was going to the bathroom.

Sure, he was cute – she may see that if she could get past her embarrassment for him – but she had sex at home if she wanted it. She didn’t need to coerce dancers into bed with her to get a little action these days. Her cell phone is finally abandoned when he makes his way over to her. It buzzes against the table one last time, chiming the chorus to some bouncy Korean pop song before it silences. She ignores it, her face fixed into a small frown on him, that only deepens, saddens when he draws closer.

One hand reached for him, her lower lip tucking into her mouth. Damn empathy coming natural with what she is.

Hari makes his way over, looking around to see if they're being watched by anyone else. He has a robe around him, covering most of his body.

Sliding into the booth opposite her, Hari looks Rave up and down for a moment, still trying to work out what it is she wants from him. "Thank you for the tip. It was very generous of you," he says, both hands on the table so that she can see he isn't about to reach for anything. It's common courtesy. "You didn't appear to be interested in the performance, though. Was there something else you wanted?"

Her hand lowered to the table when he didn’t take it, her pink eyebrows knitting.

“I was dragged here by my friends.” She nods to the crowd, making the same fuss over the next dancer. “This is really not my kind of place, honestly.. but you.. I.. Why are you so sad?” She blurted it out and then looked away from him, realizing it’s actually none of her business, and that this was probably a stupid idea anyway.

Hari is taken aback for a moment and his shock is obvious on his face. No one has ever asked him how he feels about this job, whether he enjoys it or not-

It takes him a second to regain himself and reply.

"Admittedly," he starts, "This isn't what I'd hoped I'd be spending the rest of my existance doing. I don't relish using my body to bring such entertainment to people. I loathe my body. Having it's differences pointed out and accentuated every night-" he shakes his head, his eyes moving over Rave. He can smell something about her. Something strong, maybe smokey? but also sweet. He suspects she is not mortal, but doesn't want to say anything yet. "I worry I'll...if I stop, I worry I'll get lost to the world and won't find my way back."

The smoke on her skin was not cigarette smoke, but rather the distinct and subtle scent of fog machine residue. There was a sweetness there as well, almost sticky, like fairy floss. No, she certainly was not mortal, that much was becoming abundantly clear, because she doesn’t tend to hide the thrumming aura she gives of, mostly because she doesn’t believe she can.

Her head tilted when he spoke, and that frown carved itself deeper over her pixie-like features. “That’s.. that’s awful.” She sighed and shook her head. A glance to the stage, to the group she had come with. “Is it just the attention? Or is it just being part of something or.. what? Why do you feel you have to do this?”

She wanted to help him, she really did.. It made her sick to see his eyes on that stage, and what he said only managed to double that nausea over. She wanted to hold him, to take him into one of those patented hugs and make the pain go away. It’s not a sexual thing, either, just.. who she is. Her arms ache, her chest throbbing.

The more he sits here the more he is confident in her immortality and the more he feels he can express himself. Nevertheless he moves closer, leans over the table despite the bass of the music.

"I don't feel as though there's anything else- I began as an object of sexual desire. I thrived as such. I don't know what I can do with my life that doesn't involve that and still remain as I am- I'm worried. I just worry that I will disappear if I don't-" it isn't a guaranteed thing. For all he knows it is enough for people to simply acknowledge his condition exists, but when he has known nothing else since getting his new body, he cannot be certain.

He lowers his eyes as though he is ashamed of himself, which isn't far from the truth. He appreciates her concern, but he doubts she can help. The concern is nice, though. It's a comfort. Just the words, so softly spoken rather than slurred.

She sighed as he leaned in toward her, wanting to touch his face, to take one of his hands.. something to soothe away what she sees. She looked back to the stage again and back to him, a small frown on her face.

“I know what that’s like, in a way.” She nods and finally gives in to the urge to touch him, reaching to brush the carefully groomed fringe from his eyes, her fingers brushing over his face lightly. It’s not a suggestive touch, just that Rave is an incredibly physical person and she can’t stand to see people hurting.

“Look.. I run a rave promotion company, and we hold events every 2 months or so, and I’m pretty much the one doing everything from booking to equipment rentals.. there’s a lot more to it than you’d think.” She meets his eye then. “If I gave you a job, would you try to quit here? You could always come back if you felt yourself starting to fade..”

Hari closes his eyes for the moments her fingers touch his finge and then his cheeks, enjoying the comfort it offers, so like the touch his mother used on him.

At her offer, though, his eyes widen and he looks at Rave with a mix of adoration and suspicion. He's being offered a way out.

"Are you serious?" he asks. "You...you barely know me." It isn't that he's a bad person, or an unorganised person, or that he wouldn't even be able to do the job. He isn't incapable. But she has just found him dancing in a bar.

He realises then that he isn't exactly being polite. "I-sorry. I'm sorry. Thank you so much. I would. I could. Of course. I would love that. Thank you-" now that he's gushing he doesn't know if he can stop. This is a whole new level of kindness that he has come into contact with so rarely in four thousand years. "Thank you."

Rave’s hand lowered then to take one of Hari’s slipping her small fingers between his. He didn’t swat her away, and being able to touch him is actually easing the need to soothe him quite a bit.

“I know, I know.. but it’s a job that just about anyone can do and I.. just feel like I really need to help you if I can. I could see, could feel how this hurts you to do, and if I can give you a way out.. I need to.” She smiled faintly. “I’m Rave, one of the New. The mortals call me Elle.” She looks back toward her friends and shakes her head.

“Go get dressed and get your stuff. I want pancakes.” She beams at him. The smile is a trademark, and an infectious one at that. She is the personification of the new peace and love generation. It would be unnatural if she wasn’t nice.

Hari nods his head, comfort washing through him like a cold thrill, so pleasant. "I don't mind if it's easy. I don't..." he shakes his head, looking at their entwined fingers. "Thank you. I do hate this. I hate everything about it-" he doesn't need to emphasise that any more. And he feels as though he can get it all out now. Now that he can leave.

"I'm Hermaphroditos," he says, his smile growing twice as wide as hers. "From the Greek pantheon. Mortals call me Hari. And most people find that shorter and easier to get on with-" he adds.

He's hesitant to get up and do as he's told in case he comes back and this has just been a twisted figment of his imagination. But it's worth the risk, isn't it? Surely?

"I'll be five minutes-" it's a sign of how unhappy he is in his job that he's willing to throw himself into an offer from a stranger. "Thank you."

He stands and kisses her hand, bowing and then skipping, literally skipping back to his dressing room to pull on his normal clothes. He returns within five minutes or so, clutching his pay for the night and looking more relaxed by the second.

The kiss to her knuckles widens her smile and she stands with him, though she’s headed over to tell her friends that she’s headed out. They ‘ooh’ over the fact that she’s leaving with the dancer, but a quick glare from the pink-haired Goddess silences it quickly.

She meets him by the door, reaching once more to take his hand, chewing lightly at one of her liprings. She might be a total stranger, but Rave starts out as everyone’s best friend, at least, in her mind. And that goes both ways. Once they get out into the night and away from that awful place, she starts to explain.

“Alright, so.. Basically what I’d need you to do is.. personal assistant stuff. Making sure I don’t forget anything, helping me carry stuff –“ This actually looks like it might be more essential. Standing, the party goddess is only about five feet tall, and that’s with her shoes on. “- Helping me run the website and moderate the forums.. that kind of stuff.” She tilts her head. “You’d be on salary, but considering that the days that you’ll work maybe an hour are pretty much more than the days you’ll be at it for twelve or more.”

Hari scuttles along beside her with a happiness and eagerness he hasn't felt for a long time. He nods his head at everything she says, not entirely sure if he knows how to do things like running website and moderating forums (he's not exactly internet savvy, he's never had to be) but pretty sure he can learn. And if not that he can certainly carry things, make notes of things.

The pay doesn't bother him either. His brother is living in the apartment he's currently renting and if the worst comes to the worst he can tell Pan to pay. Or move in with Sebastian. There are more important things than money.

"That's fine. That's fine. I can do all of that," he nods. "Well, I think I can. I've never done anything like this before, but I've seen people with PA's. I've met PA's before-" He's enthusiastic if anything. He can't be faulted on that.

Out of the lights and into street clothes she finds the boy she walks with now quite pretty, and a warm squeeze of her hand tells her just how delicate his own are. Good, being attractive (as shallow as it is), and with a smile like that, he’s going to fit right in with her crowd.

“The website stuff isn’t too hard. You basically browse the forum and make sure no one’s breaking the rules. It takes about twenty minutes to learn, and can be done while you do other stuff online.”

Enthusiasm is also going to help, and the two of them together are going to be unbearable to most people, which is good, in that it’ll probably mean giving them their way, if only to shut them up.

“I DJ on weekends at Decadence, so you’re welcome to keep me company if you want. The rig there is already set up so I just bring in my laptop, but it can be fun to just sit and watch the people.” And get paid for it. So it’s pretty much a job a monkey can do, and one she’s pretty much done by herself for the last ten years, but if it gets him out of that dive, she’s more than willing to do it. Poor soul. “Are you any good with numbers?”

Hari continues to nod as they walk along. He's intelligent enough to be able to pick things up quickly, he isn't so set in his ways that the new world scares him.

And the prospect of going to a club without having to do anything more than just attend and enjoy is exciting for him too.

"Numbers?" he stalls for a second. He's never really needed to be able to do anything other than tell the time and know how much to charge. "Money numbers or...long...fractions?" If the tone in his voice doesn't give away his sudden concern then the nervous frown on his face will certainly drive it home.

At the nervous smile she beams up at him, reaching to brush her hand along the bicep of the arm she’s already got a hold of.

“Basic money numbers. I didn’t expect you to be an accounting whiz or anything. Mainly things like taking ticket money at the door at events.” She tries to figure out where they are when they hit the main road and tucks her lower lip into her mouth. Now.. where was the closest place that served decent food at this hour..

A small noise of discovery and she takes off down the sidewalk again, still clinging to the hand of her newest best friend. She looks up at him in the streetlight and smiles. “You know you’re really, really pretty.” She observes with a grin. “My followers are totally going to love you.” And if she wasn’t already involved she’d be macking on him so hard she’d be embarrassing herself, and probably driving him off, so all the better, really.

"Ok-" the look of relief washes over his face and is followed with another smile.

"Well, thank you. I try," Hari lifts a shoulder in a bashful little shrug, his smile spreading. Perhaps if Rave's followers love him he won't have to go back to dancing. He can survive off of interest in him, in who he is, not always necessarily sexual interest. Although there was and (he couldn't deny it) would always be that factor.

He is almost bubbling over with his happiness, gripping her hand tightly as they walk, a little bounce in his step. "I won't let you down. I promise. I won't let you down."

It's not only for his own personal modesty he's happy to be away from that place, but also because he'd made a promise to try, to get away, to save his body for one person only. And being on the path to keeping that promise was just the icing on the surprise cake he'd just been handed.
