Who: Dev and OPEN
Where: Started out just getting groceries by her new apartment - how'd she end up here? (Anywhere Manhattan)
When: After dark, Wednesday
Warnings: TBD
Jason had been right. It was a matter of trust. And everything had gone so smoothly today, from loading up on at the airport to the flight there to finding a cab to drop her off in front of Jason's cousin's apartment. Getting the key, signing the lease - these had been no problem. The doorman was very helpful in bringing her stuff up to his - now her - apartment, and the apartment itself was nicer than she'd thought. It actually had two rooms, a bedroom and a general living space which stepped up into a kitchen. Everything was great until she stepped into the bathroom. Not only was the tub covered with... something slimy, there was no toilet paper. In the entire apartment.
Not only that, but she'd dug through every cabinet and couldn't find any bleach. Or laundry detergent. If that was what his tub looked like, there was no way she was sleeping on his sheets. There was a half-used bottle of Windex, and some furniture polish - and that was it.
This would just never do. Even though the only thing Dev really wanted to do was pass out on the couch and maybe unpack a little, she was going to need toilet paper. With a sigh, Dev gathered up her keys and headed out onto the city streets.
You would think there would be a grocery store or a Duane Reede nearby - but no, her block was lined with Starbucks and clothes shops and -- where was she going to find toilet paper? By the time she'd located a drug store and went in to get her supplies, Dev was hopelessly turned around. Her sense of direction had never been the best and -- hadn't she been somewhere on 55th St? The fact that it was now dark made reading the street signs that much more special, but fortunately it was never truly dark in New York City.
Oh well, if she was going to live here over the summer, she'd have to figure out her way around somehow, right? Of course right. Dev set her jaw and began scanning the street signs, looking for her way back home.
