Thor ordered, enough food for at least two men of his size, maybe three. Well, his mother did know what she was getting herself into when she made the offer. He clicked the phone off and laid it aside, leaning back on the couch and smiling at her as he took the offered glass.
"High points?" he repeated with a sigh. "I spent a few years with my head buried in the sand, so to speak, lamenting over the destruction of my home. And then I came here, assumed the mortal lifestyle, played the game as it were... I had a girlfriend who was alright for the most part and a place in Pennsylvania. Back yard, dog, the whole... postcard situation. But you know me, I can't handle domesticity. I don't like it. After a couple of years I split and moved out on my own, transferred departments and busied myself being second-in-command for a while. And then, well..." he waved his hand indicatively.
