He felt better once she smiled, it meant that he wasn't going to get yelled at and lectured and probably beat up a little bit like he'd been half expecting her to do. And knowing that she wasn't really disappointed in him was a great weight off his shoulders. At least not he could stop stressing over that.
And then she laughed.
Thor snorted softly himself and threw his hands up in the air. "War," he said, "Thunder. Big booms. Yeah, I was in munitions. Until one day I get a call - Oh hey, Thor, our office building was destroyed, don't worry about coming into work." His eyes narrowed. "I knew it was you too. I'd been hearing things. But I just expected it meant that you figured out where I was and was trying to force me back home. Realized about... oh, yesterday, that it was just another cosmic coincidence. Still... way to go," he said, rolling his eyes.
With another small laugh he placed his hand on her cheek and kissed her forehead, shaking his head as he pulled away. "So... you're happy to see me, then? I see I've come at a bad time, but hopefully I'm not completely inconvenient."
