Persephone couldn't help but be pleased when Adonis said those things to her, that he grew fond of her and that she wasn't like Hades. But she still couldn't help but feel like she was. At the time, in the Underworld, she didn't care, or ignored her own hypocrisy. She figured if Hades could have her than she could have Adonis, and that she deserved him more than Aphrodite. But now in these warmer, more free months, she felt shameful.
"I'm glad to hear that you want to spend time with me on your own free will. As long as it really is of your own free will. Then I'll be happy." She finally closed the menu and set it down when she decided on something. When a waiter came, she asked for a simple coffee with cream and sugar, and a slice of cake.
"Not recently," she said once Adonis had a chance to tell the water what he wanted, and once the waiter was out of earshot. Not recently could have been anywhere from a few months to a few decades for these gods. "I think he's still with the mafia." She said it quite seriously; these things were normal for her family, especially for Zeus.
