She'd been on her way to the club already in a new little red dress when she'd gotten Tezcatlipoca's permission to meet someone there. It was draining - she liked the peace, but having to run her life past him was one of the arrangements that she'd tried to avoid when she'd left the first time. Now, it had been his first rule for their new arrangement. Or, his second. The first was to set aside Saturday nights for his pleasure... And he hadn't even been taking advantage of the privilege. She wasn't sure if she was offended, or relieved.
She pushed him out of her mind, though, and paid the cab driver with a rather huge bonus before she skipped from the cab and went to mingle in front of the nightclub. Avalon was new, bright, loud. Happy, and she let the atmosphere outside - young and raucous and full of life - slide into her erase any thought of her husband, at least for tonight. She was meeting a stranger who promised some fun, and the beat from the music spilling out into the street was already working its way into her hips.
