Triton had been waiting, and it didn’t take him long to get to the door. No matter how often he insisted that his door was open to family, rare was the person who actually believed it and walked in. He did mean it, however, especially when it came to someone like his own father.
On the other hand, there was company in the house, and while Triton had been looking forward to Poseidon’s visit, his guest had not wished to intrude on them. A knock at the door in this case was actually preferable.
He opened the door to see his father about to knock once more and Triton smiled. “Father. It’s been too long.”
