Triton did not hesitate to walk into the room and stand in front of the loom. He ran his eyes over the work in silence. He would expect nothing less than incredible from Athena, and he wasn’t at all disappointed. He found it difficult to speak….not just because what was before him was beautiful…….but because it was Athens, and that had to be most difficult for her to think of, to concentrate on with all her energy as she worked…..and she had. Of course she had. She would not shy from such a hard subject….not her. Not his daughter.
“Athena.” It was all he could say to break the silence. It was one word he could manage to get all his emotion into. He didn’t think she wanted him to bring it all up again, but he couldn’t just say that it was beautiful, couldn’t just say he was sorry.
Though it was, and he was. Especially for not having been there in the first place.
