Who: Athena, Triton, Amaterasu What: Quality time and checking in When: Wednesday afternoon Where: Triton's car, Amaterasu's tea-house Warnings: None
Triton hadn’t thought much when he invited Athena to come with him. He simply missed her company. He missed talking to her, having her near. There was a time when he’d seen her every day, long, long ago. He’d insisted on having everyone come together at least once a day, usually to share dinner. It had been his favourite part of the day…..no matter what else had happened. It had all ended, suddenly, and he had felt the loss ever since. Things never could go back to the way they had been. It was one of the things in his life that most bothered him, one thing he could never forgive. He had never blamed Athena for anything, and had always tried to let her know that. Let her know he thought of her as one of his daughters, same as his others.
Besides taking the chance to see her, he also wanted to share with her a place he’d found some peace. Amaterasu’s tea-house was a beautiful place…….the gardens were lovely…….and it was just…..something he wanted Athena to see, too.
There was also Amaterasu herself. There was probably no cause for concern….but he found himself thinking of her just the same. He had thought of sending her something, maybe a basket of things to help her get the rest she seemed to be lacking, but it didn’t seem like enough. She had helped him feel better not too long ago…..he wanted to do the same for her, if he could. If there was any need. If he was fortunate enough to see her today, he would do his best to judge whether or not he should make his offer again. A change of pace and location could sometimes do what nothing else could, and he’d already fully intended to have her visit him.
He didn’t know if he’d have the opportunity, so until he did, he concentrated on the present.....seeing Athena. He found himself smiling slightly as he walked into the lobby, an expression he quickly hid when he met with the doorman. He gave the man his name and waited, standing calmly by the doors as he did so.
