Who: Rehab and OPEN What: A day of healing around the city When: Noontime, Monday Where: Six Train Warnings: TBD
Even on days when they flocked to her like she was the Pied Piper, Rehab knew that her battle was still going to be a long one. Even if she brought dozens to centres around the city there were still dozens who hadn't responded to her call of comfort and safety. She'd had a good day though, even she couldn't deny that. Twenty into one centre and thirty into another, and that was only Harlem. It was just a sell, minuscule dent in the problem, but she was doing good things and for every person she brought through her doors she felt the effects surging through her body. They were on their way to sobriety, and thus she stayed there.
Rehab smoothed out her dress before stepping back out onto the city streets. It was only noon and she still had a full day ahead of her. Lunch first, and then she intended to head down town to Alphabet City. There was a hospital with a rehabilitation centre in the are and as far as she was concerned it wasn't doing its job until it was packed full to the brim of people she'd brought through the doors.
She pulled on white gloves before heading down into the subway. It was getting to be so warm these days, but she absolutely refused to touch anything in a subway station. Dirt, grime, and germs were all too prevalent underground and she really didn't want anything to do with it. She had only just swiped her metrocard when a six train roared into the station. One young man held the train door for her as she ran forward in heels. She found an free row of seats allowing her to sit down, spreading her voluminous skirts and petticoats out around her. Out of her pocket book came a copy of An Uncommon Drunk: Revelations of a High-Functioning Alcoholic and Rehab began to read.
