There was a rustle in the reeds next to the lake and Theias' head snapped up, the hound's eyes narrowing. "Go but eat out of our sight." Adonis murmured to his loyal dog, who barked in what sounded like agreement before scampering off to chase whatever it was. Adonis watched for a moment as the dog splashed into the water after a frog or a fish or whatever it was before smiling slightly back at Jord.
"I wasn't running from you. I could never do that." Adonis frowned lightly, wanting to break down and explain; explain just what College had done to his mind, to his dreams, to him. "I just..." He was quite obviously struggling for the right words, wanting to convey how he felt without seeming weak or dredging up too much of what had happened. "Didn't want you to see me. I felt weak and ashamed."
Sighing, he looked back over at Theias, who had caught something and was dragging it into a patch of reeds like his master wanted him to. "I was running from myself." He still was. "But that never works." He squeezed her hand lightly. "And I am sorry to have caused you distress. I just... couldn't. I felt like the old days. I didn't want to be that way with you."
