Baldr smiled back, glad at least that Jord was put-together enough to smile and allow him to touch her, and even to kiss him, which... well, it was unexpected, and unfamiliar, but he smiled wider, pleased. A mother's love, even if Jord had not given birth to him, was a precious thing, and he had missed it for these long years away from Frigg. "For you, Earth-mother, I would go wherever you wanted me at any time," he answered, following her into the kitchen. "I am your obedient son, Lady, and I owe you my gratitude for all you've done for me." He squeezed her hand gently -- since she hadn't dropped his hand, he wasn't about to, either.
He considered her offer of food and drink for a moment. The old custom of refusing twice and accepting the third offer was largely out of fashion, and Baldr was never one to stand on ceremony. He inclined his head to show his gratitude at the offer. "I have eaten already, mother, but I would appreciate a drink." He had the feeling that Jord would appreciate having someone to care for, as well to be cared for herself.
