That was all Iris needed at the moment….a little reassurance. She wasn’t asking him to stay in one place forever, she wasn’t going to make him swear he’d never leave. She knew better. She just wanted to know she’d have him for a little while at least, and if he said he would stay, she believed him. If she knew she could fall asleep this one night without fear that he would be gone in the morning…..that was something.
Realizing she’d interrupted what they’d been doing, she wasted little time in bringing her hands back to the job of undressing him. When she did have his pants unbuttoned and unzipped, she pushed him gently and moved to sit on top of him, her skirt settling around her legs. She leaned forward to kiss him again, unable to do it enough to make up for all the times she hadn’t been able to.
