His brows furrowed when her hands stopped, but Zephyrus didn't hesitate and continued with kissing her neck, shoulders, and everything else in between. Inside his mind, he was hoping that Iris wasn't going to stop, but that thought was interrupted when suddenly she held him in a tight embrace, making him stop altogether.
Zephyrus' body was anything but tense at the moment, however, he still continued to stay still when his wife kissed him, his eyes closing briefly to enjoy her soft touches. His hand had found its way upwards and into her hair again, caressing it gently, comforting her while his blue eyes looked over her shoulder.
He couldn't make promises, even though at this point he already knew he was the idiot to think of even leaving Iris right now, but Zephyrus really didn't like to break promises, contrary to popular belief. Especially not to Iris, who he now knew to be hurt the most among all the people and things he left behind.
"Okay, Iris. I'm not going to go anywhere, I'll stay with you." For as long as I can, I'll be here. With you.
