To anyone looking in, it was kind of both interesting and amusing to see Zephyrus, the disagreeable rude wind that he was, to be a bit uncertain and worried at the moment in the face of his wife. While many would point out the fact that indeed he was the one that left her, Zephyrus would be happy to tell them to shove it up where the sun doesn't shine and also to inform them that it was the denial, the possible rejection, that scared him the most.
The kiss that he gave her next was longer and filled with much "thank you" over what she had said to him that no doubt, calmed him down again. "Yes. I know that very well." There wasn't any smug tone in his voice, but by her actions and words that he heard and saw so many times before, Zephyrus knew that Iris loved him, a feeling that was so painfully mutual at the moment.
