Iris laughed softly, but only in the moment between his words and his kiss. “I married you for more than that.” Then his hands were sliding over her, and she forgot she had been saying anything at all. She may not have married him just for the way he kissed her, but it was definitely something she appreciated, nonetheless. Even more so now, considering that they hadn’t touched in years….and she had waited.
She wasn’t thinking of what had happened or how she’d felt such a short time ago…..she could only think of how she felt now with him, of how his words made her arms slide up around his neck so she could pull herself up closer against him.
She had forgiven him. Her anger had been based on her fear that he wouldn’t come back, that he wouldn’t want her. Zephyrus had come back, and it was abundantly clear he still wanted her. She knew him. She would trust him. Iris smiled, the smile she kept just for him. “That would be a good way to follow up the kiss.”
