Central park, where things were green, where the scent of flowers could be found. That is what she had read, that is what had been told to her. She left the bank, taking the stairs to the fourth floor, and from there the elevator to the basement. A slip of paper slid into magnetic locks to keep her from being locked out all night and she was free.
First to find a taxi, then to step into the grass. Her shoes removed as soon as possible, she hated the dreadful things. She preferred feeling the grass and sand beneath her feet, even if now and again they were pricked by thorns and echinoderms. No echinoderms here though, and not many thorns, unless she step from path to rosebed.
She sought the nightbloomers, the flowers that showed their glory not to the golden sun but to the silvery moon instead. She would have to come back and see the daybloomers this weekend, in sunlight.
For now she wanders, arms crossed over her chest, feeling true freedom for the first time since she had awakened. Urania had given that to her in part, letting her be free from the locks of the mortals, the grass, the wind, the flowers gave her the other half. She wasn't going back, not now, not after tasting freedom again. Never.. never.. going back.
