Alphabet City always drew mixed feelings from Glibt and she told the cab driver to let her off a few blocks away from the bar so she could walk the rest of the way. She was instantly thrown back into the old days as she reached out with her mind to feel the residue of the deaths of her people all around her. Ten in the apartment building across the street, three in the alley she passed by and all because of AIDs, spread by Heroin and lack of sexual education. It was still bohemian, still essentially hers but the memories of tent cities and flitting around mentally to each death in an attempt to comfort her people as they died flared up inside her. But by the time she reached the bar, she had regained control over the past within her, regained control of the memories and there was nothing but a smile on her face as she walked inside and claimed a table.
Neither over or under-dressed in a light blue, simple and yet feminine dress with casual yet precarious heels and a leather jacket thrown over top, Glibt leaned back against her chair and scoped out the rest of the patrons. Two men were already giving her the eye but she simply looked away, completely uninterested. Of course, there was a waitress at the bar eying her and Glibt simply had to send a flirtatious smile in her direction but she wasn't here to flirt with the ladies at the moment. No, she wanted to get Mark to simply relax for a few hours. Knock back a few beers, devour an obscene amount of wings, talk politics, of course, but try to forget that Mark was responsible for the country and that Glibt was responsible for her people.
Still, work never ceased and her cell phone buzzed as her contact in Rhode Island checked in, first complaining about the prominance the homophobic ad was getting on Rhode Island television stations and then saying that the climate did not look like an eventual victory would occur. Frowning just slightly, Glibt's fingers flew over the keys quickly as she tapped out a response, wanting him to stay there; wait there and do his best to turn things in their favour.
