She wasn't really hurt. The wounds were so fine, so light that there was only the faintest hint of soreness from them, more than anything they itched. She didn't want him to come inside to her though once she had seen the moon and felt the cool night air on her skin. The sound and scent of the woods and the water were soothing in a way that didn't seem appropriate for her to think of them, considering who and what she is.
She looked down at him for a long moment, as if making up her mind about something. Rising to her knees, she drapes the blanket around his shoulders and then slips between his legs, back tucked to his chest, the blanket drawn to encompass her as well. That seemed.. good, he could hug her, hold her if he wanted, or he could not just as easily and she'd still get to maintain gentle, unobtrusive contact.
"It's nice out here, thank you for letting me join you." She says after a moment of settling and listening to his heartbeat, his breathing.
"I feel alright. Confused, but.. somehow.. you made things seem not so scary. How do you do that? How do you make the world seem.. not so bad with a few silly jokes and a simple promise?"
Words she would have taken back if she could. She couldn't, there was no delete button for speech.
