"I'll tell you.. before you go, but.. not right now." And for now, she's done with what she's keeping from him. It's selfish, she needs a friend, and if she told him, he'd leave her alone again.
She knows now that he wouldn't like it. She can see it in his face, she can feel it too. For a moment that weird uncertainty returns, that quiet 'what's wrong with me' that she's felt before. It has to be something, right, some reason.. he isn't attracted to her.. so what's wrong with her?
"I don't want it. It's what I need right now. I don't want it, and I don't want it from you especially. I'll be okay, I'll get through this." She answers after a moment of gnawing on her lower lip and looking faintly uncertain/hurt.. a whole myriad of strange things that had nothing to do with their relationship, and everything to do with her pride.
She didn't flinch away from his touch, but her skin did tingle, and he can feel the faint tremble of the muscles beneath. She didn't try to pull away. After a moment she just sank against him, hugging.. she could use a hug and that was safe, right? He didn't mind touching her, did he?
