Who: Orithyia and Boreas What: Finally finding each other When: Friday, lunch Where: Masa
It wasn’t often Boreas bothered to take anyone out. It happened, of course, but it was more often a matter of convenience. They wanted to be taken out, he wanted to eat. It would have almost been a win/win situation, if it hadn’t been for the fact that it meant he had to talk to them. It was difficult to pretend to care. Sadly, for them, and luckily, for him, mortal women were usually happy enough to put up with a man who wasn’t particularly interested in them.
Today was one of those days where he’d ended up seated across from one of them, trying not to let his impatience show. She was boring. They were always boring. He had to wonder at the men who put up with them day in and day out. How did they put up with the complaining about their last boyfriend, complaining about how they couldn’t eat anything, complaining about their family, friends, job, and home.
Boreas fought to keep his expression neutral. He desperately wanted to tell this woman what was wrong with her life and how it could easily be fixed. It would not, however, as experience told him, be taken well. He concentrated instead on eating his food and remaining as uncommitted to the conversation as he could. His date didn’t seem to be mind all that much, just chatted away as he answered in what really weren't even words.
