Words hadn't been necessary, Amaterasu understood that some things were beyond speaking for the sake of doing so, and it was with a small amount of pride that she had shared this small thing with Triton. But nevertheless, his honest appreciation warmed her heart and through her smile she couldn't help but reflect that.
"You don't have to say anything at all, for I can see it in your eyes. I'm just glad that I was able to offer you that little bit of a surprise, and that you seemed to enjoy it as much as I do sharing it." Offering the tree a slight pat she turned her full attention back to her guest, pausing a moment when she belatedly thought of the havoc the damp mulch and whatnot would be wrecking on Triton's footwear for having deviated off the path with her. Drawing her lower lip between her teeth, she glanced back up at Triton apologetically.
"I must beg your forgiveness, I did not think of the consequences of the muddy earth when I asked for you to follow me. I hope that your shoes were not damaged in the process," she fretted.
