Who: Jord and Sato What: Tea! When: Tuesday afternoon. Where: The Goblin Cafe Warnings: UH, perhaps language?
Though Jord's fraternizing with other deities had been quite prolific lately, it still felt odd to her. Strange. Almost a little dangerous. For so, so long she had kept entirely to herself, only socializing with mortals and even then, very little outside of her professional dealings. Perhaps it was a lonely life that she led...she never really herself think about it. It was what it was, it was hers, and she didn't really mind the solitude. But then the war had come and it had changed...well, not everything. Nothing could change everything about an ancient goddess. But it had certainly managed to change a lot, and her solitary nature was simply one of the casualties of that rapid shift. There was a price, however. Being with others from her pantheon again meant facing all of the reasons she had left Asgard in the first place. Things had not gone well with Odin...partially her own fault, due to a weakened state of being, but it was painful nonetheless. And being around Baldr, while refreshing, made her miss her own son. There was something about Thor's wild strength that she needed, of which she felt a desperate lack.
Problems, problems, and still she pressed to meet other deities, to know new gods, to make alliances powerful and solid. If her own pantheon knew of the ventures she was truly sponsoring right now...Odin would surely punish her. And yet still, she was not dissuaded. All of this would eventually be very important...she could feel it in her ancient bones. This meeting with Sato, the Baku...it may not have been the most obvious move. It might not even have been a clear power play, but still it was important to her. The goddess found herself enjoying the times that she spoke with the woman online, and Sato was undoubtedly quite witty and amusing - she had a certain chaotic air about her that Jord was drawn to. The goddess of the Earth was not purely good - danger and chaos were just as much a part of her being as nurturing and love. Balance included the dark and the light...it could be no other way. So the darkness in Sato drew her own darkness, and the dream-eater's dry wit engaged her mind. If nothing else, it would be enjoyable to speak to her in person.
And so Jord sat at the Goblin cafe, a slick laptop sitting on the table before her at which she was typing rapidly. The goddess was generally early when she was expected anywhere, and therefore always had some work with her. She wore a grey pencil skirt and a fitted, button up shirt in deep purple. Her legs were in fishnets, her heels tall and the same hue as her shirt, hair pinned up elaborately, some curls falling around her face and forehead. Her pendant on it's thick metal chain rested over her shirt, visible more and more often these days. It was a statement, though even Jord herself wasn't sure what it was meant to convey. Fingers flying over keys, she waited, eyes flicking up occasionally to whoever happened to be walking through the door. This meeting...the goddess was very excited. Speaking to Sato at the hockey game had been nice, but this was a true and official meeting, and it felt different. It was different.
