Harmony remembered little of where he'd been and what had happened to him since he'd left Heroin's house.
He remembered Ares and dancing. He remembered Heracles and his strong arms. He remembered taking a lot of coke and a few veins of heroin and enough weed to probably buy Mari a new house... he remembered lying down and curling up wherever he was on the street, waking the next evening to go out, club again, go home with another confused club kid and everytime he was driven into until they came it was only his brother's name he called out, the same name that he sobbed and called for and laughed out in his dreams.
Talking in his sleep.
He hadn't slept for a while this time around, had become captivated in the lights being caught and thrown around a shop with a glass mobile display all day when he was usually sleeping. He liked the mobiles. silent tiny pieces of the sun. He wished he could show his brother that; the way he felt about him. That Mari hadn't thought about it that way, hadn't been thinking about it the same way at all, hurt so much when Harmony thought about it that it almost faded in on itself into a heavy dull ache that lay settled and cold in the pit of his stomach.
He'd known since his conception that he wasn't worth his brother. Any fool could have seen how far Mari outstripped Harmony in every way, in intelligence and looks and love and courage, everything. And Opium had been hurt because all he could think of was destroying the people who'd dared hurt his brother, brilliant and warm and all encompassing, all life giving as the sun.
No one had been taking acid. He felt them shy away from the horrific trips that people had but he had no desire to change them; fuck them all. Let them see, this is what it's really like to be on the wrong side of your god.
He followed the cracks in the pavement towards his next nightclub, a good fifteen minutes away from where he stood now. He couldn't be alone. Couldn't be. But nothing made him feel together quite like Mari.
