Who: Anna and Alex
Where: Anna's apartment, and elsewhere
When: Tuesday evening
Rating: PG-13/R - adult themes within!
The weather makes her restless. A taste of spring and then another cold snap. The wind wriggling its way into her apartment. This city, always moving and never changing. She's kept her head down for several weeks, now. She goes about her business, pokes around the city, makes herself look busy. But she's starting to get bored; she doesn't have the patience she once did. She can't let it play out slowly like she used to.
So this evening she finds herself standing on the fire escape, smoking a cigarette, and thinking about Alex. She hasn't heard from him in a few weeks, and god knows he's one of the few men in New York who might be glad to hear from her. She rubs the last of the cigarette out on the wrought iron, and ducks back in through the window.
She digs her phone out of her jacket pocket, scrounges around for his number. (She's too stubborn to put the damn thing into the phone itself.) The she sits on the edge of the sofa, and dials him up.
