It felt so good to have her in his arms again. No matter what else happened, or what he was supposed to do, he thought of Athena as his daughter. That came before everything else. Just having her here, being able to touch her, see her, made up for everything that hadn’t gone right lately. Everything…….including the voice that interrupted them.
Triton was nowhere near angry enough to actually do anything to the kid…….he was more…..confused by him. He supposed he shouldn’t have been surprised. Living alone for years disconnected from everything and everyone had not made Triton the sort of person who could get along smoothly in the modern world. Bring in a new god like Internet, and…..well. Athena’s hand on his arm reassuring him went a long way. He held on to her a little tighter for a moment before letting her pull away from him. She had also come to see Internet, there was no getting around that……but maybe later he could manage something for just the two of them. Until then……
He stepped back as Athena studied the kid. Triton had already decided that however she went about this, it was most likely anything physical would never be his forte……and at the moment, neither was anything sneaky. Triton slid his hands into his pockets and put on a look of casual concern. “Yes, are you ready? If you wanted to get a little air, maybe go out for something to eat first, I’m sure we could accommodate you.”
