"They absolutely want what they can't have," Psyche agreed, echoing Enola's words. "And they're fascinated by what they can't understand. Beautiful illusions have an allure."
Psyche had to repress a smirk (and didn't have much success) at Athena's allusion to her husband. "It is special; I'm not trying to deny that. But if your life is too full, too rich as it is, I see no reason why you should regret it."
She paused a moment before continuing. "Life doesn't stop, and time doesn't stand still, but some things the poets do get entirely right. But if no one has earned your admiration in that way, then really, dearest, you should be nothing but proud of who you are and all you've accomplished."
