Find me here; speak to me.
Who: Samael (servantofgod), open to anyone who would find themselves in a church.
What: Praying/worshipping.
Where: Samael's church.
When: After Sunday night service (Quite late - probably 10.30pm~ish)
Warnings: None.
He sat alone in the church, a guitar on his thigh, a worn bible in his hand. Silently he read the verses over to himself, and then he set the holy book down and took up the guitar pick. Tuning it was second nature to the angel - after all he played it almost everyday.
Samael had not done this often, but all the apprehension fell away as he started strumming a few chords. At first, he just closed his eyes and let the melody fill the church. And then as the hand movements became automatic, he started praying - silently to himself, and to Yahweh, and then in tongues, and then the wrods, foreign to the current day and age, were articulated.
There were so many things Samael wished the Heavenly Father would command of him - and yet he had to be patient and wait upon the Lord. He had to set aside his own desires in order to be a servant of God - the only thing he could do was pray. And there were too many things to pray for - lost souls, sins, easing pain and suffering, healing the wounded and weary, giving hope and direction the lost and the needy.
And then, of course, the horsemen. Famine, in particular. Samael couldn't move mountains - he could only ask the Creator, the Alpha and the Omega, and have faith in His wisdom.
Then he moved on to Death, and he paused and the music stopped. Brows furrowed at the unsettling feeling - of what, he wasn't too sure yet; perhaps a budding revelation about past deeds or future happenings, perhaps instructions yet to be executed - but he continued on nonetheless. Famine, Death, War, the Plague - the angel prayed for all of them. He still remembered quite clearly what Pestilence had told him, but above all else Samael trusted the Lord's judgement, and asked for His understanding, forgiveness and compassion.
His eyes were open even though he was still praying, still talking to Yahweh even if the conversation seemed a little one-sided. His gaze was fixated on a stuffed polar bear - a souvenir Famine had given to him from their trip to the zoo.
For great is His love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.
