Athena laughed when he pulled her on to the couch, taking on a wry look when he turned that beaming smile on to her. It was completely genuine of course, but Athena could never help being just a tad more suspicious to her younger brother than he usually deserved. It was a self-defense mechanism, though. Caerus always acted the same, whether he was trying to get something from her or not -- assuming that he was trying to get something from her had been the only thing that had saved her on several occasions.
She reached out and took the rose, twirling it gently between her fingers before lifting it up to her face. She brought it to her nose and gently inhaled, finding the subtle fragrance pleasing. "Thank you, Caerus, it's lovely." She lowered the rose and smiled at him, teasing, "Who was the one that taught you flowers were the way to a girl's heart?"
Gracefully rising, Athena said, "I'll go put it in some water. Would you like anything to drink while I'm up?"
