Athena wasn't surprised when Caerus grabbed her hand, in fact she'd expected him to take the opportunity. She turned, smiled at her brother softly, and reached out to lay her free hand on his cheek.
"What would you know, Caerus? If my heart is broken? Surely you must know that already. Would you know if I am strong? You must feel that change as well. Would you have this first meeting covered with the weight of my grief?" She shook her head lightly. "Let it go. I will be well again. You're here now. That's all that matters."
She let her hand fall back to her side, tilted her head slightly and gave a small shrug. "That and the fact that I made queso dip."
