Caerus' arms wrapped around her and Athena had to consciously stifle her instinctive response to a sudden movement towards her before she was able to return her baby brother's hug. He still felt exactly the same, as if there was something humming underneath his skin. His familiar presence, the warmth of his affection... it was like a balm to her heart.
Carefully, she squeezed him the slightest bit tighter before releasing him and stepping back. "It's been too long."
She didn't step away. She just dropped her head on his shoulder for the space of a few heartbeats before lifting her head and smiling at him again. "I'm so glad to see you. Come in and let me get the door."
