Who: Athena and Caerus What: Sibling reunion When: Saturday evening Where: Athena’s place
Caerus usually took more time getting to wherever he was going. True, he often didn’t have a particular place in mind, but even so, he clearly moved with more determination than usual. It wasn’t seeing someone that had him moving, it was seeing Athena. He’d been on his own for so long - he missed all his brothers and sisters. He wasn’t entirely sure if they had all missed him in the same way, but it didn’t matter. He would be pleased to hear any of them were well and happy.
Any of them….but especially Athena. He wasn’t sure why, exactly, but she had always figured very prominently in his life. It was, maybe, some sort of big sister little brother thing.
Not only was he going to see her for the first time in…..well, a long time, but it seemed as though she had something interesting for him to do. Caerus had been pretty aimless for awhile, and it got tiring. Life just wasn’t the same as how it used to be, and he missed it. Getting involved with anything Athena had either thought up or considered important enough to get caught up in sounded just wonderful to him. That was one great thing about her….she thought things through and made sure everything was worth doing and the right thing to do, besides. It saved him from considering the options or just interfering and causing a problem.
On his way, a man in front of him was having difficulty juggling the packages in his hands. Briefcase, shopping bags, flowers. Quite the armful. Just before the man managed to get it all under control, the flowers came dangerously close to falling and all Caerus had to do to get one was reach out his hand. He pulled a peach-coloured rose from the bouquet and smiled when the man managed to rescue it from a fall. He wouldn’t miss one. Right?
It was getting cold by the time he reached her place, but the promise of warmth was more than enough to keep him happy. He walked right up to her door and, without pause, knocked on it.
