Who: Flora and Mari What: Breakfast Where: Her apartment When: This morning Rating: Cute?
Flora sat on the couch in her living room and waited - she'd always loved waking up with the sun, always energetic and happy in the mornings (and most other times!) - but since she'd hidden herself away the bright walls seemed to be closing in no matter how open the space was. She'd rearranged the furniture at least twenty times. She washed and cleaned and refinished every item in the apartment. And finally she'd started sleeping later and later just so that there was less time not to do anything in. But today, Mari was coming over! She'd have been excited either way, but she was more excited than was probably warranted since he was the first person she'd seen other than he xon for a week. She turned on the television that she almost never turned on and absently flipped through the early morning talk shows, wondering quietly how much longer she could go without finding a grocery that delivered.
She knew she was hiding, she admitted it to herself. But knowing and even feeling silly and guilty for doing it didn't make it any less likely that she was going to stay in this apartment until she was either dragged out or her ex-husband left town. The second option, she was pretty sure, was not going ot happen any time soon.
