Who: Divorce (itsnotyouitsme), Sato (night_yen).
What: A gloriously indulgent business meeting.
Where: Sato's restaurant, Masque.
When: Tuesday during the lunch hour.
Rating: It's Divorce and Sato at Masque. At worst someone will get eaten.
February had been busy and March looked to be no different. Between her little favor for Communism, her lunch date with Cinema, that impromptu introduction to the adorably sad Greek god and her meeting with Ishtar and Death concerning the goddesses' murdered women, Divorce had been occupied and then some. That, of course, did not even begin to include her mortal identity's work. Weekly columns wait for no deity, and publishing houses who want to compile those into a cash cow are even worse.
Divorce twisted her mouth into an amused little moue in response to her own thought, snaking through noonday crowds clustered on the sidewalk. Even with some of her worshipers murdered by the Christian Sin, or the debacle on Wall Street, she had very little to complain about. Business and power never really stopped for Divorce, but trying times like these meant the influx would be that much stronger.
Cause for celebration, she thought appreciatively, and stopped outside Masque's doors. It had been a short, surprisingly pleasant walk. Yesterday's freak storm made today that much lovelier in comparison, so why not enjoy it? It was still bitterly cold out, of course, but on a day like today Divorce found that she could give a damn for passing as human. If throwing herself into Mona's work meant that she could stop thinking of those dead women for even a moment, then work it would be.
With that in mind, Divorce took one last deep breath, letting the city's excuse for air wash through her. (She knew it was nothing but exhaust fumes, didn't you?) And then she entered Sato's pride and joy, for business as well as pleasure.
