Who: Persephone and Hades When: Mid-Morning Where: NYU Cafeteria What: Hades and Persephone reunite Warning(s) TBA
Nervous. That’s what Persephone was. She had stepped far beyond the lines she was once safe in. Now she was walking among various mortals she was unfamiliar with. But she found herself smiling lightly at the sight of various students and the signs of small flowers arising in the dirt and around deserted benches.
She was tired. The trip to the campus was a long one since the campus was about thirty miles away from where she had hidden herself. Though she had obviously not taken a walk to the campus, she hadn’t slept. The whole idea of having an encounter with Hades gave her perhaps an hour of sleep at the most.
Persephone followed a kind mortal’s instructions as to where she could find Hades and sat in on his lecture. Like she said she was in the back, giving the God of the Underworld limited eye contact. It felt so uncomfortable now, what was it going to feel like when they came in closer contact?
When the class had ended she walked down the aisle of stairs quietly and followed Hades to the cafeteria, staying about two feet away from him as she did so. Persephone didn’t think she was even breathing regularly.
As he left to get food, she crossed her legs and tapped her leg nervously against the steel bar near her foot. The rest of her body tried to remain calm, a smile even escaping when she scooted her chair in to let a few strangers pass by.
