Sending the butterflies last night had used more of her power than she'd thought it would. She hadn't felt the effects right away, but today it felt like she'd been run over by the car instead of shakily driving it home and she'd gone to the one place she knew would help: The Butterfly House at the Bronx Zoo. Things were so strange, these last few weeks. Since finding her brother Flora had had the feeling that things were shifting, changing. She'd love the feeling a first - now, with what had happened to her friend, she wasn't so sure it wasn't a bad omen. She'd also told Mari that she felt her family getting closer. Maybe she imagined it, maybe not, but she did know that if they came, at least she'd know that they were safe.
But it was hard to be too worried her, and so she'd been there since the Zoo had opened it's gate to a flood of children on school trips and families this morning. Now, Flora sat cross-legged on a bench outside of one of the exhibits, enjoying the change to spring that was sliding into the New York air slowly, but surely. A winter Monarch landed on her knee and she giggled, relaxing, but gently shooing it off.
