Julian Legard stepped out of the building and took a deep breath, lifted his head towards the cool winter sun and smiled. Giving guest lectures was always a pleasure, especially if it was about fertility rites in the Ancient Near East.
The mortals had been so very inventive back in the day that they had provided Ba'al and his consort with endless hours of amusement. He'd been and still was immensely proud of his city. Carthage, the Shining City, ruled by the glorious Queen Alissar whom they called Queen Dido these days. Dido? Wasn't that also a singer? Female with a fragile voice?
Tightening his scarf, Julian wandered across the campus, set on enjoying what little sunlight he could get before he returned to the museum to brood over ancient texts with stubborn linguists. Sometimes, he wanted to knock their heads together and tell them to stuff it. They couldn't even pronounce the words properly and had the nerve to tell him that his translation was wrong!
