Joel was incredibly confused about being there, especially after just quitting from Hope Zion. He was feeling a lot and it was stressful for him. Luckily he met another doctor which may help ease him some. It was easier to be in his element which was around other doctors and nurses - it was why he dated two other surgeons, Alex and Maggie. He'd even slept with his boss at one point in time. He wanted to just have a friend-relationship right now since he was tired of relationships. He just had a sex-relationship with Maggie for a while but that didn't go well. He found it hard to just be friends with a girl, especially if Zoe looked anything like her photo. But it was his goal to try. He made his way down the stairs into the kitchen and got out a beer, wondering if Zoe would actually join him.
