If they had been back in the Compound, Ginny would have seen Molly probably much more quickly. Unfortunately out in Pokemonland, opportunities to see people were few and far between, which could be rather frustrating. Tonight she had more motivation to get to her Mum and visit her, which was maybe a little selfish, but she didn't think her Mum would think so. Molly had made sure all her kids knew from a young age that they could always come to her when they needed her; whether this was 'her' Mum or not, didn't matter. She knew it would be the same thing, that her Mum would be there with a hug and a cup of tear and a listening ear. Right now, that was exactly what she needed.
She could have followed the path to Lavender town through Saffron City, but that would have involved walking, since none of Ginny's Pokemon could fly. Instead, she made her way through Cerulean to the river, riding on her Lapras down the shoreline of the ocean, to Lavender Town. She was much more used to riding a broom than anything in the water, but it was quicker than walking by far, and her Lapras was sweet and friendly to boot. So it didn't take too long for Ginny to make it to Lavender Town, though it was dark as she walked through the city. Luckily her Mum had left a light on just like she said she would, and Ginny had no issue finding the bakery next to the Pokemon tower.
With her Lapras back in it's Pokeball, Ginny slowly approached the door to the bakery, suddenly slightly nervous as she brushed her hands down over her outfit. She knew of course that her Mum would look just like she remembered her always looking, but this was still a different Mum, like meeting a new person almost. Beyond that, this Mum had never met her before, never seen her since she didn't exist in her world. Which was a bit nerve-wracking, at least enough to make Ginny hesitate for a long moment before she raised her fist and knocked carefully at the door.
