Who Altair & Sirius Blackbaby What: Chess and comics and father/son time! Where: Sirius’ room in their unit in Gamma. When: Monday evening (backdated) Warnings: Probably none. Status: In progress.
For all that this place was weird, Altair supposed it wasn’t too bad. He missed his Mum, but for now that was no more than he missed her when he was at school, and at least his Dad and his sisters were here, too. There was candy everywhere, too, which was pretty awesome, even if he couldn’t get outside to it right now. The abundance of versions of his Dad and Uncles was cool, but also a little disconcerting for Alt at the same time. After all, he had enough trouble feeling like he was living up to one Dad’s expectations. What if he met any of them, and they were disappointed that he wasn’t cool enough? This was a distinct possibility, seeing as he was nothing like the cool, rebellious Gryffindors that Dad and his Uncles were back in school; he was just a nerdy Ravenclaw who liked comic books and chess. They were bound to look at him and wonder why he was such a geek, just like all the kids at school did, or at least most of them. He wasn’t really looking forward to that, and he thought maybe he should encourage them to meet the trips first, or something. They were much cooler and much less likely to disappoint.
Of course, worrying about it probably wouldn’t help him. He may have only been 14-going-on-15 but he knew that much from experience. Besides, his Dad wanted to play chess with him and see his comic books, and how could he not take advantage of that? He always took advantage of his Dad showing interest in the things he liked, even if sometimes Alt worried that his Dad wished he was interested in other things. Rather like an excited puppy, Altair squirmed a bit with excitement as he picked up his Batman backpack and slung it over his shoulders before hurrying out of his room, through the common area to his Dad’s. His Mum-instilled manners made him stop just long enough to knock on the door before he opened it. His brown eyes were slightly unsure as he stuck his head through the opening in the door and asked, “Dad?”
